Summary of the Proceedings of the Executive Body
Meeting of the New Life Education Trust held on 16th
January 2005 at 10AM at Sri Aurobindo Institute of
Integral Education, Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar
The meeting started with 2 mts. Silent prayer. Sri Sriballav Panigrahi,
President presided.
At the outset of the meeting, Prof. Mohapatra Nilamani Sahoo, adviser
welcomed the new president Sri Panigrahi and wished him a successful
period in service of The Mother. Sri Panigrahi in reply expressed his
gratitude and promised to work in cooperation and consultation with others.
He said that the work is difficult but not impossible and we can overcome
all hurdles on the way by the Grace of the Divine Mother.
Then the proceedings of the last Executive body held at Matrubhaban,
was read out and approved with the following obserevations.
1. Sri Aparti Ch. Dash of Bhubaneswar, presently posted at Debagarh
was once again requested to maintain and update the accounts of the Trust.
2. Sanskrit workshops which were held for one day each at seven places
considered insufficient. Dr. Narendra of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry
had proposed to conduct the workshops for three days at least at three
places and this proposal was accepted. 3. The coordinators of the Trust
were requested to report the names of the text books adopted in the Integral
Schools of their area. 4. It was felt that Sanskrit has not been given due
weightage in our schools. It was therefore decided that Sanskrit should be
taught in the classes Nursery to Std-III by oral method and Text books
should be introduced from Std-IV onwards. 5. The sub committee
constituted to discuss on the proposals submitted by the convener, All
Orissa Sri Aurobindo Study Circle Committee could not sit in the past
owing to different difficulties. Prof. Mohapatra Nilamani Sahoo and the
President wanted the proposals to be discussed. The Secretary read out the
proposals which were accepted with following corrections. (a)Proposals
for new Integral Schools should be accepted through the conveners of
District Sri Aurobindo Study Circle Committee. (b)The conveners of all
District Sri Aurobindo Study Circle Committee are accepted as the ex
officio members of the Trust. (c) Each School was requested to earmark
one worker look after the Study Circles to be opened in the houses of the
workers and managing committee members of their school. The District
conveners were requested to coordinate in collaboration with these workers.
(d) It was felt that the Study Circles were not given the due importance
after the Integral Schools are opened. All members of the managing
committee and teaching staff should take active part and attend study
circles regularly. (e) All members of the School should attend the district
organisers meeting held during July every year. 6. A proposal was raised
to request the All Orissa Sri Aurobindo Study Circle Committee to sit at
different districts of the state in regular intervals. 7. As regards the T.A.
claims of the office bearers and coordinators of the Trust, the Secretary
was authorized to approve. 8. Sri L.M Khuntia Bolangir, proposed to audit
the accounts of each Integral School by qualified auditors every year and
attach the audited balance sheet with the annual report while sending to
the Trust. This proposal was approved. 9. Regarding printing of text books,
the secretary expressed his dissatisfaction in connection with the revision
of text books. He expressed that the zonal coordinators were requested to
make available the services of at least one teacher for each subject from
their zones. But unfortunately except a very few, most of the zones could
not help. However, Sri Samarendra Lenka of Cement Nagar, Sri Pabitra
Mohan Baral of Cuttack, Kumari Nirupama Chaini of Ganailo, Sri Pratap
Ch. Mati of Khandagiri and Sri Sanjay kr. Mohapatra of Kalupadaghat
have taken the responsibilities of revision of General Science, Mathematics,
Social Studies, English and Oriya respectively. The revision work has to
be completed by 15th Jan in order to complete the printing by end of
March. It was further decided that the balance books of the old editions
with attached corrigendums will be sold to the needy students on
recommendation of Trust members and approval by Secretary or Joint
Secretary. Out of total discount of 50%, 40% will be given to the students
and 10% to the sale centers at Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. 10. It was learnt
that Sri Bimal Prasanna Das Vice President and Sri Sankar Mohanty Joint
–Secretary along with Prof. Manoj Das had approached the private secretary
of the Minister of Mass Education, Sri Nagendra Pradhan regarding
declaration of the Integral Schools as special type of schools and he has
promised to released the order of Govt. in this regard as early as possible.
It was decided to pursue the matter. 11. The proposals made in the meeting
of Integral High schools held at Matrubhaban, Cuttack on 21st Nov’ 2004
to consider these high schools as experimental schools were discussed.
The President suggested to form a committee consisting the President,
Vic-President, Secretary, Joint –Secretary, Sri Sarat Ghose and Prof.
Mohapatra Nilamani Sahoo to meet the Chief Secretary and Chief Minister
some time during February to discuss on the matter. 12. The President
suggested to prepare Oriya books having words of similar meanings from
Western Orissa, Southern Orissa, Northern Orissa which would help the
students to learn words of different regions of the state. This, he expressed,
if could be made, might open the eyes of the Govt which would help
building National Integration. The members present appreciated the idea
and hoped that this could attempted in the near future. 13. The Executive
body after careful consideration nominated the following 27 members from

The meeting ended with two minutes silence prayer and thanks to the chair.
