[PDF] MICROCOSMOGRAPHIA POETICA: TENETS OF POESY

Understanding Nation and Nationalism
N Kundra - Interdisciplinary Literary Studies, 2019

SJ Sorabjee - The Radical Humanist

My problem -u are trying 2 show a hero committed 2 his people as a coward who won’t even man up 2 his identity. Hope u know the real Subhas Bose had resented Aurobindo Ghosh’s ducking of his political responsibility when he was needed most. At least Aurobindo was in his own name!

What he said is given in Leonard Gordon’s book, and his conflict with Dilip Roy on that. It’s annoying that ur types tweet more than what u read, 4 if u could read u wouldn’t ask me the stupid qsn as 2 if I read Roy. We cited him heavily in our piece. Over & out.

The experience of the Aurobindo Āśrama is really important learning principle for all of us, on what to do and what not to do. Having said that, I respect the Aurobindo Āśrama for all it achieved. You have my deepest respects. But we need to better and show the way to the world.

You are right that democracy is not easy to establish at local level. But I am convinced that if anybody can do it, it is us Indians. From my perspective, democracy is a form of Yajña. What better place to recognize it as such, than in temples or other spiritual organizations?

The human body is more than 60% water. The human brain and heart are 75% water. Water is the carrier of our life. Our words and thoughts can be considered as waves on a river, that nourishes us and moves through us. In this thread, I want to discuss the seven rivers of my life. https://t.co/kkcItS0yi9

In this thread, I described the gratitude I owe to all the rivers in my life. They are all sacred in my eyes. https://t.co/tz8KM6YPDT
https://twitter.com/vakibs/status/1153230716353818624?s=19
The first river that made me is Godāvari. I grew up in her lap, next to the delta known from ancient times as “Sapta Godāvaram” - the land of the seven Godavaris, on the banks of whom were the hermitages of Sapta Rishi - the Seven Sages. It is a green land of rice and coconut. https://t.co/RO3TnqKlOZ
https://twitter.com/vakibs/status/1146762084211990529?s=19
The seven distributaries are named after the seven Rishis. The main ones are Gautami and Vasishta. The place where the Vasishta river meets the sea is known as Antarvēdi - “the end of the Vedas” i.e, enlightenment. I remembered Herman Hesse’s Siddhārtha when I took this picture. https://t.co/3y9EMZsGV6
https://twitter.com/vakibs/status/1146765089967677441?s=19
The second river of my life is in a completely different continent - Europe. She is Isère, who flows by the town of Grenoble near the French Alps. https://t.co/AiDSn25KvD
https://twitter.com/vakibs/status/1146801751523299329?s=19
Amazon is the third river of my life. She is larger than the next 7 rivers combined and accounts for 20% of all the fresh water discharge in rivers. I have not yet seen the Amazon nor visited South America. But she has been there in my body, whether I am conscious of it or not. https://t.co/MpW8Bzena3
https://twitter.com/vakibs/status/1146844748398944258?s=19
After I finished my PhD in France, I moved to Germany for my postdoc, to a small town near the French border called Saarbrücken. The Saar river, which flows through this town, is the fourth river of my life. https://t.co/vqqrJuusCZ
https://twitter.com/vakibs/status/1146861829471244290?s=19
After my postdoc, I moved back to France to work in the industry. This time, I moved to Bretagne, in the northwestern end of France, to the town of Rennes. The Villaine river, which flows here, is the fifth river of my life. https://t.co/VtmUmumIbC
https://twitter.com/vakibs/status/1146873804834201605?s=19
Now as a professor, I moved to the city of Leipzig. This is, without a doubt, the most beautiful city I ever lived in. Leipzig is an ancient settlement on the crossroads of three rivers - Elster, Pleise and Parthe. The Elster, which is the largest, is the sixth river of my life. https://t.co/BaKUMzhnkN
https://twitter.com/vakibs/status/1146885142180503554?s=19
Finally, I have to tell you the seventh river of my life. I have not seen it yet, but it is without a doubt the most important influence in my life, running not just my own life but several generations of genetic and cultural history. It is the river Gangā or the Ganges. https://t.co/laWOrQ8jQX
https://twitter.com/vakibs/status/1146894762651324416?s=19
In realizing that the rivers are diverse, but that they are one, we embody the wisdom of Saraswati: the best of rivers, the best of mothers. We may not physically see her, but she will appear when we achieve the “Samyama”. This life is just a journey to that end. (End of thread).

On 1 hand you have low encephalization modern H slag go apeshit when we try to read the history presented as is in the itihAsa-s on the other they want they these works rid of the "supernatural". The supernatural is the important part of the epics. For those who approach it as
bhakta-s the supernatural is the necessary ingredient for bhakti. For those who approach it for religious teaching the supernatural is there is teaching things which they would obtain where they able to access the shruti directly. &for those who can approach the shruti directly
it provides an exegesis and an unfolding subtlities that might be difficult to directly apprehend in the old language of the shruti

Theology has always had a fairly healthy relationship with philosophy

Religions are accumulated culture marketed for commercial purposes with political patronage. They are also a means, says Sri Aurobindo, for elevating human consciousness, at times. This transcendental aspect needs to be a priority by relegating mythology and rituals to oblivion.

If one reads Sri Aurobindo, then s/he can fathom the significance of Evolution. Why the Westerners came to India? Why Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo, Tagore, Gandhi, Nehru, Ambedkar, and others went overseas? Recognising inevitability of #WorldUnion and redundancy of Hindutva needed.

"The Four Necessary Functions of Active Consciousness" -- Aurobindo explains what Blake means by "fourfold vision" and his mythology of the "four Zoas" of "Albion divided fourfold". Probably close, too, to Jung's four psychological functions/types.

No spiritual travail can yet beat this account, it has converged so many ideas, theories, wisdoms with the practical, reachable and Comprehensible yogic experience 'autobiography of a yogi' may come close, but cant outshine this humble kolkatan in clarity and transparency :) https://t.co/FsgeK3cbF6

That depth of thinking, multiple lines of thought running parallel to each other, yet all of it being a single man's humble endeavour to understand the essence of tantra, very few literature on earth can match him there higher worlds revealed by a common man, born on streets.
Yeah well said dada I tried to get this taste in other literature, all fell short, be it autobiography of a yogi, or literature as written by Sri Aurobindo. elaboration of the same theory, be it in kalighat or up there in amarnath, finally merging onto authors own yogic sadhna.
Beautiful thread bhai, Sri Aurobindo has a solution to all the prevailing states of mind and consciousness

This aphorism was definitely not listed in T&C of Integral Yoga..if it was then in some microscopic font am sure...🤓 He has this wonderful trap set..first comes as Krishna the Beloved..and we fall..then comes the Charioteer goading to action while remaking us inside out!

Conditions? What conditions? I thought we turn up and He embraces us first and then allocates some work, preferably one involving visual contact with Him..and of course He rewards us with some of His light and joy and power...and ideally effaces all we are here below 😎
