Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management celebrated the 61st Independence Day of India and the 136th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo today. To mark the occasion, a paper-reading contest was organised at the college on the occasion.
Manmohan Bamba, Secretary, Sri Aurobindo Society, N.S. Tasneem, Poet and Critic, and Dr I.J.S Jaswal, Head of the Department of Human Development, PAU, Ludhiana, were the members of the jury on this special occasion.
The students, Amrit Singh, Kingston Paul, Roshni Kapoor, Mitchell Jaswal, Prince Juneja, Amit Garg, Ekta Madaan, Avneet and Shruti Sethi were among participants who presented their views on several topics such as ‘Can nuclear energy be one of the development options’, ‘Would decline in political ethics sustain our democratic set up,’ `The darkest hour is just before the dawn,’ `Life and work of Sri Aurobindo,’ `Sri Aurobindo on Education,’ and `India under the magnifying glass.’
