Sri Aurobindo New Life Education Trust

PROCEEDINGS OF THE EXECUTIVE BODY MEETING OF
THE NEW LIFE EDUCATION TRUST
HELD ON 31.7.2005 AT MATRUBHABAN, CUTTACK.
The meeting started at 11.00AM with Sri Sriballav Panigrahi,
President in chair.
At the beginning, the President proposed to observe 2mts silence
to pay respect to the departed soul of Sri Sisir Panda, ex -Vice President
of New Life Education Trust and Secretary of Matrunibas, Sambalpur
and Sri Sirish Chandra Mohapatra, ex-President of Sri Aurobindo
Integral Education Centre, Baripada and it was observed.
The Secretary read out the proceedings of the last Executive Body
held on 22.5.2005 at Matrubhaban, Cuttack which was confirmed with
following observations.
1. Secretary mentioned that the Accounts of the Trust has been made
up - to- date except the accounts relating to printing and sale of
text books. It was therefore decided that the final accounts in all
respect shall be placed in the next meeting of the Executive Body.
2. Regarding Sanskrit workshop, Secretary placed the proposal of
Dr. Narendra of Sri Aurobindo Ashram Pondicherry who has
agreed to conduct workshop on Sanskrit for three days at different
zones during November. It was therefore decided that the
workshops on Sanskrit shall be conducted at the following places
and on the dates as mentioned against each.

It was decided that the Secretary/Principal of the Sri Aurobindo
Integral Education Centre of each zone will send their teachers to the
specified school to attend the workshop and intimate in advance to
the principal of the concerned school the names of the participants
with a copy to the Trust. Each teacher has to pay an amount of Rs. 50
only towards dinning expenses.
During discussion it was learnt that some Integral schools have
not introduced Sanskrit in their schools at all. This matter was very
seriously viewed. It was therefore decided that Sanskrit should be
compulsory in each Integral School as the Mother had said that
“Sanskrit ought to be the national language of India.” Other subjects
may be taught as any other Indian Language except Oriya and English;
while Oriya should be taught as Mother tounge and English as
International Language. It was further decided that Sanskrit Text Book
“Surabharati” should be taught in Std III in stead of Std IV. This
would be discussed in detail in the above workshops.
3. It was also decided that English workshops be conducted at different
places in consultation with ELTI. Sri Pradeep Panigrahi (Bapu) of
Khallikote was requested to discuss with ELTI and place proposals
for workshop in the next meeting of Executive Body.
4. Sri Parikshit Patanaik, District convenor of Nayagarh District
expressed his dissatisfacation over the activities of Nayagarh
Integral School. It was decided that a meeting of Executive Body
of the New Life Education Trust would be conducted in Itamati
Sri Aurobindo Integral Education Centre sometimes during Nov/
Dec’ 2005 where a special session will be devoted for discussion
about the Integral schools of Nayagarh District.
5. It was decided that the Govt. shall be moved not to give recognition
to unaffiliated Sri Aurobindo Integral Education Centres. It was
learnt that at certain places the CI/DI are pressing to appoint Sikhya
Sahayak in our Integral Schools. Govt should also be moved not
to give any Sikhya Sahayak in our schools as they are neither
aware about our principle nor can oblige.
6. President narrated the discussion made with the Education
Secretary Sri Dhal in presence of Prof. Mohapatra Nilamani Sahu
and others and said that the Secy, Education has agreed to issue
orders of Govt. accepting our schools as experimental schools.
The President was requested to approach the Govt. to give us
grant to build infrastructure under Sarbasikhya Abhijan without
diluting our ideals he agreed.
7. It was found that the name of Sri Suramani Khamari of Boudh
has been left out by mistake from the list of members circulated.
He was included . Moreover Sri Anup Kr. Sahu of Patnagad have
been taken in as the Dist. convenor in place of Sri Lalit Mohan
Khuntia of Bolangir District, Smt. Sulochana Sahoo in place of
Rudra Prasad Mohanty of Dhenkanal District and Sri Kartik Ch.
Biswal of District Mayurbhanj in place of Sri Ganesh Prasad
Mohapatra.
8. It was learnt that Sri Aurabinda Mohapatra of Sambalpur has
already started preparing the Oriya book for Std-I in
multilanguage. It was decided that Sri Mohapatra will be requested
to involve Sri Bichitrananda Paikray of Paikakushadiha in this
Project.
9. The matter regarding the formation of resource committee was
discussed. The Convenor of the Committee, Km. Anjali Tripathy
read out the report of the Committee, which sat on 19.6.2005.
Proposals made in the project are accepted in principle.
10. It was decided to invite suggestions from the Principals of all Sri
Aurobindo Integral Education Centres for revision of the Text
books. Since the books should be made available to each school
by March every year positively, the proposals for correction should
reach New Life Education Trust latest by October i.e during the
All Orissa Integral School Workers Meet.
11. It was decided that Principals of Sixty Integral Education Centres
shall be requested to attend the senior “All Orissa Sri Aurobindo
Integral Education Workers’ Meet to be held during 6th to 9th October
2005. They will sit separately to discuss about the Text books.
12. It was learnt that after the formation of the Advisory Board, no
letter or proceedings have been sent to them. The committee felt
sad about it. Therefore it was decided that all Proceedings,
decisions etc shall be sent to each member of the Advisory Body
from this time onwards.
13. It was learnt that Math. and Oriya Text books for Std-VI have
already been published and are available for sale. Books on S.S.
and G.Sc. for Std- VI are under preparation which will be made
available before March 2006 positively.
14. It was decided that next “All Orissa Sri Aurobindo Integral
Education Workers Meet” shall be held during 6th to 9th October
2005. The participants teachers should reach by 6th morning. The
meet shall be inaugurated at 9AM on 6th October and shall be
closed on 9th Oct. with the afternoon session. The contribution
for teacher to participate in the meet shall be Rs.120/- only.
15. It was learnt that some Sri Aurobindo Integral Education Centres
are not responding to any instructions or letter of New Life
Education Trust. The Co-ordinators of the Trust were requested
to visit all non-responding Sri Aurobindo Integral Education
Centres of the state and inspire and encourage them to participate
in the activities of the Trust in the future. In case they are still
found to be non-co-operative necessary action as deemed proper
shall be initiated against them.
16. The President was requested to meet the Secy., Education and
Chief Secy during Aug.’2005 and discuss about the problems of
the Integral schools of Orissa. He was also requsted to impress
them not to impose the Integral High Schools to form M.C. as per
Govt. School.
17. Sri Prafulla Panda and Sri Satya Narayan Babu requsted to meet
a portion of the deficit that may be during forthcoming zonal
workers’ meet of Sangati, Santi and Samata zones to be held at
Rourkela. After discussion it was decided that this will be decided
in the next meeting after the accounts of the camp is received.
18. It was decided to open a savings account in the name of P. Tripathy
and S. Mohanty, Secy. and Jt. Secy. in the S.B.I of OUAT Branch,
Bhubaneswar immediately.
19. It was decided to purchase a Computer for the Trust and kept in
the office of the Trust at Khandagiri.
20. It was also decided to purchase 2 almirahs and 2 sets of reference
text books one set to be kept at Cuttack and the other one at
Khandagiri.
21. It was learnt that during the last July, organisation meeting was
conducted in each district starting from 1st to 30th . The New
Life Eductaion Trust had requested to each school to close the
school and send each teacher and member of the Managing
Committee to attend the meeting. Kumari Anjali Tripathy
proposed to declare the day as holiday for each school which was
accepted.
22. Bhaliakanda of Cuttack District granted provisional affiliation
for 2 years up to Std-V.
The affiliation of the schools were then taken up.
Class V affiliation granted for provisionally 2 years in form of
Bhaliakana of Cuttack Dist.
The following members were requested to visit the schools
mentioned against their names and submit their visit report for
consideration of affiliation.

The meeting ended with 2mts. silent prayer and thanks to the chair.
